First Generation

Eldon Willing Sr.

​

Eldon Sr. opened Scott's Cove Marina in 1963. He was also the owner and captain of five skipjacks including the Robert L. Webster.

Second Generation

Eldon Willing Jr. 

 

Eldon Willing Jr., the eldest son of Eldon Willing Sr., began working for Scott's Cove Marina in 1972. Eldon Jr. was also the owner and captain of the skipjack Amy Mister. 

Second Generation

Jack Willing

 

Jack Willing, the youngest son of Eldon Willing Sr., began working at Scott's Cove Marina in 1972. Jack is a master craftsman, building many Chesapeake Bay dead rise work boats. 

Third Generation

Eldon Willing III

 

Eldon Willing III began working for Scott's Cove Marina in 1980. Eldon specializes in woodworking, fiberglass repair, welding and more. He is currently co-owner and operator of the marina. 

Fourth Generation

Sean Messick

 

Great grandson of Eldon Willing Sr., Sean Messick began working at Scott's Cove Marina in 2003. Sean is the owner of Messick's Marine, the onsite body repair shop, specializing in fiberglass repair, painting, engine installation and maintenance. 

Fourth Generation

Robert Kemp

 

Great grandson of Eldon Willing Sr., Bobby Kemp began working at Scott's Cove Marina full time in January of 2018. Bobby specializes in engine and transmission rebuild and repair. He is currently co-owner and operator of the marina.

Family owned since 1963, Scott's Cove Marina has a rich history in the waterman's town of Chance, Md. Currently owned and operated by the 3rd and 4th generation of the Willing family.
